Venerable Voyagers!
Well, since my last newsletter, MUCH has happened in the world! The Catholic Church has elected the next Successor to St. Peter, Pope Leo XIV!
I know this is "old news" by now, but it is still significant, as at Voyage, we will be looking to the new pope for inspiration and direction on how to encounter the modern world with the Gospel message.
While Pope Leo's pontificate is still in its early stages, he has already expressed his desire to address the ongoing digital revolution and the challenges of mass media.
One thing that stuck out to me in reading his first homily is his mention of "superman:"
Today, too, there are many settings in which Jesus, although appreciated as a man, is reduced to a kind of charismatic leader or superman. This is true not only among non-believers but also among many baptized Christians, who thus end up living, at this level, in a state of practical atheism.
What he is addressing is the fact that many people (even Christians) think of Jesus as a "superman;" an extra-ordinary man who was able to inspire people to start a religion. This ends-up denying Jesus' divinity, and treating Jesus more as a "prophet," than God incarnate.
At Voyage, we don't want Jesus to become simply another "superhero," but in a certain sense we like to view him as the "source" of all superheroes. Anything that is true, good and beautiful on this earth has its ultimate source in Jesus Christ.
We hope that our own attempts at creating superheroes, such as The Phantom Phoenix and Medal Knight, will draw upon this source and ultimately lead people back to that source.
Our own superheroes are only strong when they place their trust and hope in Jesus. Their strength does not come from some alien orb or magic incantation book, but in their weakness.
We'll continue to keep an eye out for any gems that Pope Leo XIV gives us and maybe someday we can hand him a copy of our Chicago-based crime-fighter!
Saints! Superheroes! Adventure!
Godspeed,

Venerable Voyagers!
Today is the last day of April and we are looking forward to May and all that will take place in the next month.
We are nearing the end of our production phase of Miracles of the Eucharist #2 and hope to send it to the printer in the next few weeks.
We are also planning a move to a NEW warehouse! It won't be far from where we are now (still in he same city), but it will feature a warehouse and office space. Potentially we could even receive visitors there for special events.
We hope everything goes smoothly and that there is no interruption in our fulfillment capabilities. We still fulfill all of our products "in-house" and don't go through any major fulfillment companies.
Also, since it's been in the news lately, we do like to remind our customers that our products are proudly printed in the USA! More specifically, our comics are printed in Mankato, Minnesota.
As a company, we made it a policy to only print in the USA, and not to rely on cheap printing in China....well, that turned ...
